Heather Stuart is a social-epidemiologist specializing in psychiatric epidemiology and mental health services research. Dr. Stuart is a Full Professor and Bell Canada Mental Health and Anti-Stigma Research Chair in the Department of Public Health Sciences at Queen’s University, with cross appointments to the Department of Psychiatry and School of Rehabilitation. She is Senior Consultant to the Mental Health Commission of Canada’s Opening Minds, Anti-Stigma Program and Past Chair of the Scientific Section on Stigma and Mental Disorders, World Psychiatric Association. She has contributed to peer-reviewed scientific literature in areas such as mental health needs assessments; suicide and suicide prevention; and workplace mental health. She holds an MA in Sociology and a PhD in Epidemiology.
