Supporting Canada’s next generation of mental health researchers
MHRC is dedicated to supporting early career researchers in mental health, and fostering an early connection between researchers, service providers and people with lived experience.
Our studentships are designed to support student researchers enrolled in either a Masters, PhD, or post-graduate College program to conduct 4-6 month research projects under the co-supervision of an academic supervisor and a community partner.
Our fellowships are awarded to postdoctoral fellows who have recently completed their PhDs to undertake one year project under the co-supervision of an academic supervisor and a community partner.
Each researcher we fund will share their time between academic institutions and community service providers, tying together their research with the end-users to ensure the project is tailored to and appropriate for that community’s needs, while integrating the insights of people with lived experience into each stage of their project.
