Salary: $15 per hour; 35-hour work week

Job Description:

Mental Health Research Canada (MHRC) funds innovative mental health research that is driven by the needs of our stakeholders and that has the potential for deep and broad impact. Our work supports the 1 in 5 Canadians who will personally experience a mental health related problem or illness. We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and proactive professional whose passion for research can shine at our organization. Please note that, due to COVID-19, all employees are working remotely for the foreseeable future.

Reporting to the Research Coordinator, the Research Support Officer will be responsible for supporting MHRC’s active research projects as well as other areas such as communications, research analysis and synthesis, as needed. The Research Support Officer will primarily assist with developing grant and studentship materials such as calls for proposals and summaries of funded projects, as well as conducting internal research projects to help support MHRC’s mission. The Research Support Officer may also be asked to help prepare social media announcements and web materials related to funding opportunities and webinars.

Job Requirements:

  • Enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a postsecondary program from an accredited university or college in health, public health, psychology or a related field;

  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years experience conducting literature and scoping reviews and writing research reports;

  • Advanced computer skills including extensive familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs;

  • Excellent oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • French skills are an asset.

  • Applicants must have access to a Windows computer.
