Barani Ganapathi, MSc

Barani Ganapathi is an enthusiastic health professional with international experience in health research, project management, multi-stakeholder engagement and policy development. He started his career in intergovernmental organizations such as the World Health Organization and the United Nations, followed by university settings and private mental health organizations.

He has an M.Sc. in Occupational Health from the University of Queensland (Australia) and has research experience in various health spheres including mental health. He has a growing passion for the intersecting research areas of mental health in the workplace and health disparities among minority populations.

Barani has secured grants and government funding for Indigenous, migrant and racialized communities in need of mental health support. He has also worked with mental health clients involved with the judicial system, major health complications and those who have experienced trauma and addiction. He has also undertaken policy development, streamlining processes and guidelines in health settings.

In his free time, Barani enjoys learning new languages, engaging in diverse sports, travelling, wildlife photography and playing the Carnatic violin.
