Gustavo is a research analyst with over 20 years of experience spanning academic and applied settings. He holds two PhDs, one in Ecology and another in Public Health, which inform his interdisciplinary approach to complex population and health challenges.
For the past five years, his work has centered on mental health, epidemiology, and policy-relevant data analysis. He specializes in translating evidence into actionable insights that inform public health policy and strengthen mental health outcomes across Canada, with a focus on making research findings accessible and useful for decision-makers. His early career as an evolutionary ecologist, examining how organisms adapt to environmental change, continues to shape his systems-thinking approach to public health research. This foundation helps him view health challenges through the lens of complex, interconnected systems.
Outside of work, Gustavo enjoys cooking for his family, playing music, and birdwatching. He's also a dedicated Formula 1 and soccer enthusiast.
