Co-Designing Digital and AI Mental Health Supports for Canadian Sport Officials

Digital and AI-supported mental health tools may offer scalable options for sport organizations, but their usefulness depends on whether officials trust them and view them as relevant and ethically sound. Nate’s project examines the barriers and facilitators that shape officials’ willingness to use these tools.

Approach and methodology

The project will identify the features, formats and implementation strategies that sport officials consider important for digital and AI-supported mental health tools to feel credible, supportive and appropriate to officiating contexts.

Expected contribution

The research aims to help sport organizations understand how digital supports could be designed and implemented in ways that better meet officials’ mental health needs.
